An earlier review of Chemcrete Specification trial sites found apparent differences in the properties exhibited by the Chemcrete and control materials. In order to establish whether the differences were due to initial consruction or subsequent performance, some of the work was repeated the following year. These results, together with evidence from other sites, indicate that, although Chemcrete modification may assist in the long term by minimising permanent deformation, it can lead to an excessively brittle material that is liable to crack.
