Abstract: A review has been carried out on methods, for measuring both the moisture content and drying of concrete bridge decks. Various moissture states have been created in different substrates and the suitability of measurement techniques considered along with the drying techniques. A comprehensive selection of membranes has been applied to substrates and the bond strength tested to establish the influence of moisture condition and to define criteria for application in practice. Only early life bond strength has been reported. Late life measurements will be reported separately.
