The object of the Fitting Roads study is to provide guidence on how to route and design new single carriageway roads and how to design improvements to existing single carriageway roads catering for relatively low traffic flows in the rural environment in order that they fit the character of the area through which they pass whilst fulfilling functional requirements and retaining safety as a priority.
