       Notes - general: In 1989 Novophalt-modified rolled asphalt was laid at
                        three trial sites.  As a result of these trials, the
                        Specification for the use of the material in rolled
                        asphalt has been modified to overcome problems
                        encountered.  The performance of the materials,
                        together with other information, indicates that the
                        modification did not adversly effect the properties of
                        the rolled asphalt.
