Title: The effect of compositional variations of hot rooled
asphalt wearing course on laboratory performance
Publisher: Transport and Road Research Laboratory, 1991
Physical description: 28p., charts
Price: Unpriced
Series: Working Paper: WP/MC/24
Notes - general: A research project that investigated the effect of
composition of hot rolled asphalt wearing course
material on performance related properties of the
material, as measured in the laboratory, is described.
The influence of variations in type of fine
aggregate, fine aggrgate grading, binder content,
binder penetration and binder softening point were
studied. The effects of these compositional
variations on mechanical stability, creep stiffness
and resistance to permanent deformation were examined.
The results of the tests were checked for the degree
of correlation between parameters.
