       Notes - general: In the structural design of bituminous roads there is
                        a need to evaluate the contributuion made byy
                        modifiers to dense bitumen roadbases.  The laying and
                        early test results of eight roadbase materials all of
                        nominally the same composition are described.  They
                        differ in that a variety of modifiers are used, some
                        polymer modified and some with changes to binder grade
                        and added filler.  Initial creep results indicate
                        significant differences between the materials; the FWD
                        results are less conclusive.
